Food: Mankin Gyoza House

Tonight we ate at Mankin Gyoza House near the Zama train station, a favorite to many of my coworkers. It’s definitely a different take on gyoza when compared to the typical thin-layered gyoza served at most ramen shops. The wrap used to make the gyoza is a lot thicker, which gives it a chewier texture. After eating through 10 of these, it really hits the spot. In addition, the shop also makes a soup style gyoza which is similar to won-ton soup. It was also pretty good, but I prefer the other style more. The prices were fairly cheap for the amount of food we got, and it definitely is a hit with all the locals based on how busy they were throughout the night.

Although I’ve just began my journey here in Japan, this shop is definitely one of my favorites so far.
