To finish up the short weekend, the group ended up riding in Kailua. After some discussion, we all decided it wasn’t a great idea to ride 50+ miles from Manoa to Kailua and label it a “cruise” ride. So we convoyed out by cars instead, hitting up the Hoomaluhia Botanical Garden in Kaneohe on the way. The park is pretty nice inside with well paved roads. The only downfall was the speedbumps every couple hundred feet due to the steep hills along the way. The road was very slick in parts that were covered by trees; I took a pretty awesome spill while skidding through a steep hill. I managed to do a tuck ‘n roll while bailing from my bike, ending up with minor scratches and a ruined brand new Fatlace t-shirt. After being shaken up a bit, we made it to the end of the park and took some shots facing the cloud covered mountain range.

After lunch in Kaneohe, we drove out to Kailua to ride the Lanikai Loop and hit up a small shave ice stand to cool off. What a way to end such a tiring week..

Memorable Moments:
-Attempting to do “mad barspinz” with Casey’s pink Aerospoke
-Eating shit for the second time in two days while skidding down a slippery turn
-Walking around the rest of a day with a fresh coat of road crud on the back of my shirt
-Spending $10 on seaweed soup and a drink at a Korean BBQ restaurant, only to realize how bad of an idea it was shortly after
-Riding Lanikai Loop for the first time
-Grinding vanilla and guava shave ice
-Learning how to dance to dubstep
-Witnessing Ian’s fireball while downing it in the H3 freeway tunnel
